1000 balloons released in Durham for World Aids Day

Show your support on WORLD AIDS DAY

and get the chance to watch 1000 red balloons being released over Durham.

The release will happen at 2pm on the Kingsgate Bar balcony – get a prime viewing spot on the Elvet Bridge.

There will be red ribbons on sale for £1 in each college between now and then, and the money will be donated to the balloon release and the National Aids Trust.

Facts and Figures:

In 2009, an estimated 86,500 people were living with HIV in the UK.

There are estimated to be over 22,200 people living with HIV in the UK who are unaware of their infection.

There are 34 million people worldwide living with HIV/Aids 50% of which are women

Worldwide there were 1.8 million AIDS related deaths in 2010.
