To All DUCU Women Members

Dear colleague,

In order to bring DUCU into line with the majority of Local
Associations, and to provide women members with a more effective forum
for raising issues that affect them directly, DUCU would like to set
up a women members group. All women members and non-members are
invited to an open meeting on Monday 2nd April at 1 pm in the Kingsley
Barrett lecture theatre, CLC407, in the Calman Learning Centre.

Ann Blair, chair of the national UCU women members committee will give
a short informal talk about UCU’s work on behalf of women members and
how to tackle gendered discrimination in the workplace. Cheryl McEwan,
DUCU Committee member and former DUCU President, will speak briefly
about issues affecting women members at Durham University before an
open forum that will provide opportunity for discussion and questions.

We would like to hear your concerns and what you might wish to gain
from a new women members group at Durham University. This first
meeting is open to non-members, so please do circulate this invitation
to any colleagues where appropriate

Francis Pritchard
Hon. Secretary
